Date: October 26th, 2017

Location: Grayson Stadium

Gates Open: 6:00pm-Dark

Gametime: 7:00pm

Out of the fourteen TurnItPink Events held in our community throughout October the one that was the easiest to recruit for was the 11 positions on the field. The majority of the positions are those who have spent a decade in college are not waiting to be drafted by the MLB or riding their 4 years of eligibility. These are individuals have dedicated more than 30+ years to education, training and mastering a craft that saves lives and in some cases gives people a second chance.

The community of patients, families, survivors and supporters are all connected in so many unique and special ways. You are not alone in this battle and you are not alone when it comes to looking for answers. The one network that is not singular is the network of professional heroes of medicine and patient advocates are the medical professionals on the field.

This is event is to celebrate those we consider miracle makers, healers, masters of their craft in a human and vulnerable way. It’s not often we see these doctors and advocates outside of their white coats, sterile instruments and hard cold floors. We reached into the layers of the specializes, practices and human healers to fill our rooster. They will get their hands dirty, their white jerseys grass stained and brow sweaty while kicking for the cause and engaging in a  little friendly competition.

In the tradition of a classic baseball game we not leaving anything out. We have invited a celebrity (in our minds) to sing the National Anthem, a special guest to rollout the first pitch, an honorable leader to spearhead the “2nd Inning Stretch”, a LIVE jumbotron on the field commentary, legally blind but qualified umpires and of course Split. Each team will have three catches, one for each inning.

Bring the family, bring a blanket, bring your support and bring your PINK. The intent is to fill the field (infield and outfield) with support, all things PINK and education on Breast Reconstruction. Gates open at 6:00, game starts at 7:00.  Wear your PINK, bring your PINK and most importantly your support.

We want to thank the Savannah Bananas for giving us this opportunity to fill the field with support!
