Planting Pretty in Pink

HERB CREEK LANDSCAPE SUPPLY

Date: September 29, 2016

Time: 9am to 5:30pm

Location: Sandfly and Thunderbolt

At the end of September, the #TurnItPink family of supporters and survivors, along with the Herb Creek family, will be planting pretty in PINK. We will spend the day educating, getting our hands dirty and potting baskets with all things PINK. The #TurnItPink goal of bringing awareness to breast cancer issues extends to creating mindfulness in things that we do everyday. Sometimes, these things are so routine or simple that we tend to take them for granted. But if you know a cancer survivor, you know that they have a different outlook on life.

The little things often mean a bit more to these fighters. Finding ways that we can be thankful for even the simplest of acts or ways we can be supportive of each other, can reap huge rewards. When #TurnItPink was looking for a partner in this mission, we immediately thought of the family at Herb Creek Landscape Supply. Together Herb Creek Landscape Supply, #TurnItPink and 100 volunteers will plant 100 beautiful pretty in PINK baskets. Herb Creek Landscape Supply will  then find homes and collect donations for our 100 pretty in PINK masterpieces and we are truly appreciative of their involvement.

VOLUNTEER TO HELP PLANT

"Herb Creek is proud to team up with the Turn It Pink Organization this year. We look forward to meeting and working with the survivors on September 29th to plant PINK baskets. Herb Creek hopes the Savannah community will come out to visit us during the month of October to help support this great cause. With a small donation you can take home a basket made by one of these strong women. All proceeds from the baskets will go to the Turn It Pink organization. We look forward to meeting you all!"
- Corbin and Ami

If you are looking for a way to contribute, come join us and play in the dirt! We will meet new people, plant some baskets, share stories and have lunch together.

We are recruiting volunteers with 'green thumbs' to share their expertise but even if you are a novice gardener, you are welcome to come learn more and lend a hand. If you would like to participate, come on out! The event is casual and the only requirement is think PINK.

SANDFLY and THUNDERBOLT Locations

If getting your hands dirty is not your thing, come pick up a basket! The entire month, but focusing on the second weekend, in October we will be hanging the baskets at the two Herb Creek nursery locations. All proceeds will be donated to #TurnItPink and  will go toward BRA (Breast Cancer Reconstruction Awareness).

#TurnItPink is excited to partner with Herb Creek Landscape Supply! Don't forget...for every #TurnItPink hashtag posted on social media $1 will be donated by a generous social media sponsor. So, wear pink in your garden, show us your pink, plant pink, be a supporter, tag a photo with a friend and with each post we are $1 closer to helping raise awareness and providing assistance to women fighting breast cancer. We would especially like to see you post a snap shot of you with your pretty in PINK basket from Herb Creek Landscape Supply, so please send us a photo!
